A Wine Country Getaway: Napa & Sonoma Highlights
From yoga in the vines to the most stunning sauna we have ever seen
Whether you’re planning a couple’s getaway or just looking for some R&R, you’re nearly guaranteed to enjoy yourself in Napa and Sonoma Wine Country. This summer, we indulged in wine, food, and the best hotels for a trip without our baby girl—we’re excited to pass on our highlights to you!
We touched down at SFO, rented a car, and drove an hour and 40 minutes to Healdsburg for our first stop, Montage Healdsburg. This resort and the town of Healdsburg itself were truly highlights of our week away. Sitting on 258 acres, 15 1/2 of which are vines of 6 different varietals, the resort has 130 rooms and 1 guest house—you can choose between vineyard, mountain, or forest views. On property, we enjoyed the lunch by the pool, yoga in the vines, and breakfast every morning at Hazel Hill. We were upgraded to a Studio Suite with forest views—it was huge and impeccably designed. We could have stayed all week!

After checking out of Montage Healdsburg, we made a quick stop in St. Helena on our way to our next hotel, Stanly Ranch. We wandered the shops (there’s an Elyse Walker, Veronica Beard, Model Bakery, and more!) and stopped at Farmstead for lunch. My salad of heirloom tomatoes and stone fruit from the farm was a trip highlight for sure.
After lunch, we drove past Yountville and headed toward Stanly Ranch, the third and the newest Auberge property in Napa. At Stanly Ranch, we enjoyed the spa, Halehouse, with the largest and most stunning sauna we have ever seen, as well as the salt and steam room—who knew a salt room was a thing?! We loved our breakfast each morning and the incredible farm-to-table dinner we had at Bear. Our room was its own little house with plenty of space, a modern design, and our own deck with a working fire pit. Last, but not least, the main pool was the perfect place to relax after a long day of wine tasting.
